Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #01 4:20 Download Gave phone number early (gave it often!). Together the programmers went down the whole premium list, which seemed too long. Could have picked a few premiums and talked more about them. Towards the end they fed that anti-corporate feeling our listeners love.
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #02 4:21 Download Mentioned some of the music they play, and how you won't hear that on 107.9. Described premiums, and how the price is similar to what you'd pay for a night out. Gave the phone number kind of late.
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #03 6:16 Download Gave phone number right away (good!). Mentioned how we play sweet stuff during safe harbor, and commercial stations just won't play the cool stuff they're playing.
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #04 5:35 Download Suggested if people donate they might get a better time slot (might not want to promise things that aren't guaranteed). Pleaded for donations to get more music in the music library, for the love of the music. Fed that good anti-corporate vibe that our listeners like. Maybe gave phone number a bit late (almost three minutes in). Listed a whole bunch of the CD premiums.
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #05 3:45 Download Pushed the CD premiums, and asked for donations to support the music scene in Cleveland. Compared $20 to going to a show, asked if WRUW was worth it. Could have given the phone number earlier.
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #06 4:24 Download Mentioned how this is a once-a-year opportunity, and how Sonia and Harry give up their Saturday nights so they can provide this to the listeners, ask for donations in return. Gave phone number relatively soon. Promoted "the scene".
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #07 4:37 Download Quite a few pauses, did not sound upbeat (didn't get any donations yet)… Asked specific listeners to donate. Gave phone number early (good!). Interrupted each other a bit. Went through a bunch of the CD premiums. Pitch seemed to drag on…
Sunday 2004 Urban States of Brainwashing Sonia Glass & Harry T. Blackmann #08 5:18 Download Seemed anxious for callers. Pushed the "alternativeness" of WRUW. Mentioned how listeners can help hip-hop and electronic music grow on the station. Not super-polished.

Sunday 2004 Radio Killed the Video Star Rich & Autumn #01 3:56 Download Started off upbeat (good). Some amount of "ums" and "ahhs". Mentioned telethon drawing to a close, good time to donate. Might have given the phone number a little late.
Sunday 2004 Radio Killed the Video Star Rich & Autumn #02 6:04 Download Pushed how WRUW supports local music, and WRUW needs support from listeners. Spent a good deal of time going down their set list. Ran through the premium list without giving much detail on anything in particular.
Sunday 2004 Radio Killed the Video Star Rich & Autumn #03 9:10 Download Started off very upbeat. Talked about the set list a bit, got excited about the Wheezer DVD premium, but didn't mention the premium level that was at. Pitch was a bit long… talked over each other a bit. Mentioned that we accept credit cards, and we do it safely. Thanked the donors so-far, let them know to expect that reminder card in the mail.
Sunday 2004 Radio Killed the Video Star Rich & Autumn #04 8:11 Download Spent a bit long on the set list I think (started on the pitch around 3 minutes into the break). Mentioned some of the equipment that goes breaky-breaky and how we need listeners supporting us to keep upgrading the equipment. Pushed wearing the WRUW logo items to job interviews (nice).
Sunday 2004 Radio Killed the Video Star Rich & Autumn #05 6:21 Download A bit long again on the set list. Didn't give much detail on why to donate. Listed some more CD premiums and premium levels. Fed that good anti-corporate sentiment that's popular amongst our listeners.

Sunday 2004 Chasing Infinity Sarah & Ed #01 4:26 Download Started off with lots of energy (good!) Sarah mentioned community members, different genres of music, how telethon is once-a-year, and all-volunteer nature of the station. Made it personal (good!). Ed then came on and specifically talked to the web listeners (good!). Both could have given the phone number more (I think I only heard it once in the first 5 minutes).
Sunday 2004 Chasing Infinity Sarah #02 6:56 Download Gave phone number early (good!). At first Sarah sounded upset with listeners for not calling (maybe not so good). Described the CD premiums and gave the phone number a few more times. Mentioned a few listeners by name (very cool). Talked about the all-together volunteer nature of WRUW, and emphasized things she's done for listeners on her show (sounded great!). Overall very good pitch, few "ums" and "ahhs", knew what she was going to say. Knew methods of payment, and mentioned premium pictures available on wruw website (gave our our web address too).
Sunday 2004 Chasing Infinity Ed #03 5:28 Download Gave phone number early and often (good!). Pitched the WRUW need for upgrading equipment, good text. Mentioned 1/2 hour of airtime and gave personal story about WRUW (good!). Pitched wruw hoodie, and gave great description of it. Also mentioned payment methods. Overall very good pitch, few "ums" and "ahhs", and gave phone number often.
Sunday 2004 Chasing Infinity Sarah & Ed #04 7:55 Download Sarah mentioned other shows on WRUW (cool!). She gave the phone number about 5 minutes in - which might be a little late (my opinion). She mentioned all-volunteer nature, and how all money goes towards stuff listeners will benefit from. First half of pitch sounded like she was reading off a sheet, which might turn off some listeners -- but this was better than most other programmer's unplanned pitches (my opinion). She gave personal stories about people recognizing her WRUW shirts (great!) ---- Ed then came on and told listeners that he and Sarah would match donations (neat!)
Sunday 2004 Chasing Infinity Ed #05 8:56 Download Pitched personal-nature of WRUW, and all our new music. Mentioned all-volunteer nature of the station, etc. Gave phone number often (good). Thanked listeners who donated.

Only gave out phone number once, and towards the end of the pitch.
Sunday 2004 The Purple Cadillac Chicago Dave #08 3:48 Download Really pushed one particular CD premium (sounded good!), thanked listeners by name for donating. Thanked listeners for helping to expand the music library by donating money. Gave phone number about two minutes into pitch. This was the only time the phone number was given during this pitch.

Sunday 2004 The Cream of Broccoli Radio Hour Brandt #01 5:24 Download Got the set list out of the way quickly (good!) Sunday 2004 The Cream of Broccoli Radio Hour Brandt #03 6:05 Download Sold listeners on the benefits of WRUW (example was hearing about an amazing concert coming up that wouldn't be announced on commercial radio). Plugged public affairs shows (good!) Really sold listeners on how "off the beaten path" the station is, how it's diverse and how the programmers are really dedicated to the listeners. Really good pitch, could have given the number earlier though. Played a song off a premium CD.
