Thanks to the generosity of our listeners during past fundraisers, we have been able to purchase over $40,000 worth of new equipment to improve WRUW’s sound during the 2007-2008 fiscal year. As you do your telethon show this year, please thank our listeners for making all of these purchases possible. Their money was put to very good use. Equipment Purchased in 2007-2008One Soundcraft GB8 24-Channel Mixer for mixing live bands. Includes a new wiring "snake" to connect microphones in Studio A to the mixing room under the stairs. Used every Thursday night to broadcast the "Live From Cleveland" show.
Approximately $7,000 of additional equipment for mixing live bands. This equipment is used every week to produce Live from Cleveland on Thursday nights and is used to broadcast the Hessler Street Fair and StudioArama. Includes ten (10) microphones, new monitoring speakers, compressors, a patchbay, microphone cables, a new power amplifier, and a brand new mixing console. 4 Closed-Back Studio Monitoring Headphones ATECHNICA ATH-M50 Two (2) new radio tuners to improve reception and quality of our air signal within the walls of WRUW. Three
(3) new Studio Microphones (for Studio C and Studio B). Brand
new mics for the Mic #1 and Mic #2 positions in the studios. These Shure
SM7B mics are our "WRUW standard" microphone. Four (4) Brand new Preamps for our Turntables. Now we have better sound anytime we play LP's from our giant record library! Digital Microphone Processing equipment that integrates fully with our console and mixing system. Now our on-air staff have a consistent sound across all of our studios and microphones.
Several pairs of reliable headphones for use throughout the station.
Additional Work Done in 2007-2008Upgraded our air signal to all-digital flow from our console through to our transmitter. This has resulted in a significant improvement in sound quality for our signal! Required the installation of a new broadcast-delay unit, and a new feed for our internet stream. |
