“Effective fund raisers are not fast-talking salespeople trying to bring a quick buck to the institution. They are people who share and convey a deep belief in the merit and worth of the organization they represent ... You have to believe that your institution makes a difference.”

Helpful Web Links about Radio Fundraising

Audience 98: A study of public radio listeners and giving
Audience 98 is a research study on why people give to public radio. Although heavily weighting towards NPR stations, the information is extremely relevant to any non-commercial radio station that does on-air fundraising. Highly recommended reading. The study is available as very-detailed PDF downloads. Most of the content is also available on web pages. (Aranet.com)

Corporation for Public Broadcasting: Public Radio Knowledge Base
(As of 2012, the CPB site has been reorganized and knowledgebase removed)
This site is home to the All you could ever hope for on fund raising from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Contains a lot of links to Audience 98 and Pledgewell.org. (cpb.org)

Public Radio's Resource for Producing Effective Pledge Drives
(pledgewell.org ... offline as of 3/2008 for over a year or more)
Great stuff here about radio fund raising. Although primarily intended for NPR stations, most of the material can be applied to our fundraising, too. Includes "The Field Guide to Giving."
